Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Director Major General Nicolas Torre remained unfazed when asked about Veronica “Kitty” Duterte’s outburst during the arrest of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.

“Ayos lang 'yon. I've seen worse. Kaya kumapal ang balat ko, sanay na 'to sa mura, e,” Torre said on Thursday, March 13.

The incident was caught in a video posted by Kitty on her Instagram account on March 11. In the footage, she could be heard cursing Torre while he explained the flight arrangements for the former president.

The video appeared to have been recorded by Kitty herself.

Torre, who was addressing Duterte’s camp but not speaking directly to Kitty, said he understood the emotions involved in such a tense moment.

"Natural, pagbigyan na natin. Bata pa, bata pa. Marami pa siyang maiintindihan sa mundo pagdating ng panahon," he remarked.

Despite the heated exchange, Torre’s response suggests he is accustomed to such situations and remains focused on his duties.

The arrest of Duterte has sparked widespread reactions, and emotions continue to run high among his family and supporters.

Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He left Malacañang on June 30. The newly inaugurated President of the Philippines is Bongbong Marcos who got 31 million votes in the May 2022 elections. The new Vice President of the Philippines is VP Sara Duterte, the daughter of former president Rodrigo Duterte.

Earlier, the former president was apprised of his rights under the Miranda Doctrine. In a video shared by GMA News, CIDG chief, Police Major General Nicolas Torre III, is seen reciting the Miranda Doctrine to the former president. The reading of the Miranda rights is a standard procedure for persons being arrested to ensure that the latter fully understands their rights upon their arrest. It can be recalled that the International Police (InterPol) has confirmed the issuance of the arrest warrant by the International Criminal Court against the former president.

An earlier video showing former President Rodrigo Duterte’s longtime partner, Honeylet Avanceña, seemingly trying to prevent the former leader from being taken into custody has gone viral. The video, which was posted on the social media page of their daughter, Veronica or Kitty Duterte and shared by ABS-CBN news on its own page, has since then gone viral. The said video also captured snippets of conversations between Avanceña and the former leader. As of this writing, the video has gained 1.2 million views with 5.4K comments and 29K reacts.
