Earlier today, it was reported that former President Rodrigo Duterte was arrested for crimes against humanity, pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC). Malacañang has released a statement on the matter, delineating the series of events immediately prior to the former president's arrest. In the Palace's statement, as shared by GMA News, the former President and his group are in good health and that they are in good condition. Officers of the PNP who effected the warrant of arrest were also equipped with body cameras, as per the statement of Malacañang.

About a month ago, FPRRD's daughter, Vice President Sara Duterte, shared an exchange between her and her father about the VP's impeachment by the House of Representatives. In a video posted by ANC, VP Sara said she sent her father a message saying, "Everything will be alright." The former president then replied with a video of himself singing “MacArthur Park.” It can be recalled that a total of 215 out of 306 House members supported the impeachment complaint against her.
