A 75-year-old man suffered a head injury and was left bleeding after slipping at a public market in Panabo, Davao del Norte.

According to a report by GMA Regional TV's Rgil Relator on Balitanghali, officials from the Panabo City Economic Enterprise Management and Development Office stated that the market’s tiled flooring had become dangerously slippery due to moisture buildup caused by consecutive days of rainfall.

In response to the incident, local authorities announced their plans to replace the market’s flooring to prevent similar accidents in the future.

The elderly man, who sustained injuries from the fall, was immediately taken to the hospital, where he is currently recovering.

However, he has not provided any statements regarding the incident.

Authorities are urging the public to remain cautious, especially in public areas where wet floors pose a risk.

Meanwhile, the city government continues to assess ways to enhance safety measures in local markets to prevent further accidents.

In a separate report, a senior citizen died, after he was stabbed by the suspect for allegedly calling the latter as an insane person. The suspect also admitted that he was drunk when the incident happened.

In another viral local report, a man was arrested for killing his neighbor in Barangay Wines, Baguio District, Davao City. The stabbing incident was committed on March 02, 2025; the victim was identified as Alvin Dulos, 51 years old. As reported in TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the suspect, Jason Dalayon, was resting on a hammock when he saw the victim and called him. That's when the suspect stabbed the victim, multiple times; as reported, the victim sustained a total of 13 stab wounds.
