As fate would have it, in a Facebook group that focuses on buying and selling car parts, the suspect was caught.
In a report by EJ Gomez in '24 Oras,' the owner of a car repair shop where the suspect reportedly went, posted on that Facebook page.
The post was particularly looking for a right side mirror and it matched the recovered side mirror in the crime scene.
Using the information from the car repair shop, police authorities were able to gather the identity of the car owner; the hit-and-run suspect.
When they went to the car repair shop, the fallen side mirror from the crime scene perfectly fit the missing side mirror on the vehicle of the suspect.
The suspect turned himself in and admitted the crime. He said in an interview that he had no idea that what he hit was a person saying the road was too dark.
Meanwhile, the victim's family seek justice for what had happened to their father.
