A tragic road accident in Cagayan de Oro claimed the life of a 19-year-old motorcycle rider after his vehicle collided with a taxi.

According to a report by Cyril Chaves on GMA Regional TV One Mindanao, authorities conducted an investigation into the incident, which occurred as the taxi was making a turn to pick up a passenger.
Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) Investigator, Corporal Bryan Cuhit, explained that as the taxi maneuvered, the motorcycle approached at high speed and crashed into the side of the vehicle.
The force of the collision resulted in significant damage to both the motorcycle and the taxi, leading investigators to conclude that the rider had been traveling at an excessive speed before impact.

Despite wearing a helmet, the young rider sustained multiple severe injuries and fractures.
Unfortunately, the extent of his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead shortly after the crash.
Following the accident, the taxi driver was taken into police custody for further questioning.
However, he was later released after reaching an agreement with the victim's family.
