However, the operation turned into an armed encounter in Caloocan before authorities successfully took him into custody.
According to a report by John Consulta on GMA News’ Saksi on Wednesday, video footage captured the intense moment when a series of gunshots rang out on Monday.

However, authorities caught up with him at his residence, leading to his eventual arrest.

“Meron tayong narekober na isang ingram, isang 9mm, isang replica ng m16 at isang granada,” said Police General Paul Kenneth Lucas, Police Region 4A Director, as he detailed the items seized from the suspect’s home.
The suspect was identified as a former police officer from the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), who had been dismissed from service in 2019.
Authorities said the suspect was responsible for a shooting incident in Tanza, Cavite, on February 14, where one person was killed and another was injured.
Investigators tracked the suspect’s movements through CCTV footage, which led them to Caloocan, where they launched the operation to apprehend him.
Despite the allegations, the suspect denied any involvement, claiming that he was traveling at the time of the crime.
In addition to a murder charge, he will face a violation of the Omnibus Election Code due to illegal possession of firearms.
