A suitcase containing the lifeless body of a minor girl was discovered floating in a river in San Jose, Del Monte, Bulacan.

As reported by Bea Pinlac on GMA 7’s 'Unang Balita,' residents in the area had been complaining about a strong foul odor coming from the suitcase.

When police authorities arrived to inspect its contents, they found the bloated remains of a minor girl inside.

According to the police, the body was in a fetal position, with her clothes still intact, but visible wounds were found on her body.

Authorities were also looking at the possibility of the suitcase just being carried by water current to that area of SJDM.

According to the sister of the victim, she told them she was going to a friend's house, evening of February 7.

In an interview, the sister said someone had been persistently calling her sister and asking her to pickup a friend who's been abused by her husband.

CCTV footage showed the victim being hesitant in picking up the friend.

Since then, the girl was nowhere to be found, and even her social media accounts couldn't be contacted.

The police already have persons of interest.

The other two suspects were first arrested by the police, and the victim's stepbrother was arrested after over a year.
