A harrowing crime rocked Liloan, Cebu, when a jeepney driver was arrested for robbery with r@pe after allegedly assaulting and robbing a female passenger in the dead of night.

According to a report from Brigada News Philippines, the terrifying incident unfolded at around 12:20 a.m. when the suspect diverted from the usual route and brought the passenger to an abandoned house.

There, he allegedly molested her and took her belongings.

The victim, traumatized but determined to seek justice, reported the heinous act to the police around 1:00 a.m.

Authorities swiftly launched an investigation, racing against time to apprehend the suspect.

Their efforts paid off, thanks to a combination of crucial CCTV footage and information from a vigilant citizen. The breakthrough led police to the driver’s location.

On February 7, 2025, at around 10:10 p.m., law enforcement officers tracked down and arrested the suspect.

He was immediately taken to the Liloan Police Station for documentation and further investigation.

Still in other news, a rider who passed through the EDSA busway in EDSA-Ortigas in the morning tried to evade being issued a ticket. In the process of his escape, he hit a traffic enforcer that was in the middle of the road and trying to stop him. According to the report of DZBB Super Radyo, he also hit a cyclist as he was making his escape. The rider said that he lost his brakes, which was why he was seemingly escaping.
