In an interview by GMA News, the couple expressed disbelief at what they discovered upon entering the property.

Their faces and names were not shown on TV to protect their identities.

The husband said that when they first entered the house, they thought it had been ransacked, as everything was in shambles and disarray.

“Talagang pagpasok mo dito, parang ni-ransack yung bahay. Maiiyak ka talaga,” says the husband.

The wife then said that she heard the previous owner might have done this to the house because they, as new owners, wouldn’t allow them to stay there for Christmas and New Year.

The wife also said that they already vacated the place they rented as someone else will be taking over, leaving them no choice but to evict the house’s previous owner and move in as new owners.

“Ang reason daw po ng dating owner is dahil di daw po namin sila napagbigyan na mag-stay hanggang January 30 dahil gusto nilang mag-Pasko at New Year dito sa bahay. Eh meron nang papalit na sa amin din dun sa nirerentahan namin, kaya naipit na rin po kami,” the wife said.

According to GMA News report, the previous owner wasn’t able to pay PAG-IBIG for the period of 10 years.

The report also mentioned that the house is worth P2.9M and that the downpayment was 15 thousand, pesos, with an amortization of 19K paid monthly in the period of 30 years.

According to the couple and new owners of the property, they needed around P500K to renovate the house and bring it back to its former glory.

They said they’re running out of funds and have already withdrawn their insurance and all their savings.

“Hinugot na namin yung ano namin sa insurance. Yung savings namin simot na,” the husband said.
