A 60-year-old construction worker was arrested pursuant to a warrant of arrest after he has allegedly repeatedly molested his stepdaughter for three years.

Based on the report of GMA News Online, the suspect was charged with statutory r@pe, and the father of the victim was the complainant.

Baseco Police Station commander Police Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Gomez stated that the young girl would be molested two to three times a month, from the time that she was 11 until she reached 14.

“Kahit ayaw niya, tinatakot siya na papatayin ‘yung kanyang kapatid, pati 'yung magulang niya…Hindi na raw siya pag-aaralin at susuportahan sa pag-aaral…So sa takot niya, pinabayaan niyang maging lihim ‘yung nangyari sa kanya,” said Gomez.

Eventually, the girl ran away and it was her teacher who noticed her absences from class, who went to look for her.

When she was found, it was only when she confided to her teacher about her situation.

“Nagsumbong siya sa kanyang titser na naabuso siya nang napakahabang panahon—tatlong taon siyang minomolestiya ng kanyang stepfather,” said Gomez.

Medical results also yielded positive for r@pe.

The suspect denied the allegations.

“Nagulat ako. Galing ako sa trabaho. Pagdating ko, hinuli ako. Hindi ko alam ang kasalanan ko. Wala, ma’am. Hindi totoo ‘yan," he said.
