Vilma Rodriguez, a 56-year-old radio anchor was shot in front of her house in Zamboanga City.
Frontline reported that the victim was with her mother and sibling when the incident happened.
The radio anchor sustained three gunshot wounds in the stomach.
She was then rushed to the hospital, but eventually died.

The suspect, who happened to be her nephew, was arrested the following day.
The suspect lives right behind the house of the victim.
The PNP also did not elaborate but said that it was not related to the work of the victim.
P/BGen. Jean Fajardo said that a day before the killing of the victim, she and the suspect had an altercation.
It also allegedly stemmed from a personal grudge of the suspect towards the victim.

Meanwhile, some Naga City residents, in a video shared by GMA News, already need to go to houses with a third floor to escape floodwaters. In the video, one can see some residents of Brgy. Traingulo in Naga City going to their neighbors’ houses that have third floors. According to one resident, they helped some of their neighbors by inviting them to stay in the third floor of their house. Floodwaters brought about by Typhoon Kristine have submerged the second floor of some of the houses in Albay.
