The "Appointed Son of God" has decided to run for the senatorial position in the coming 2025 elections.

It can be recalled that he was later on arrested by authorities after weeks of searching for him in the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) compound in Davao City.

Apollo Quiboloy is a Filipino pastor and founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ church. He claims to be the "Appointed Son of God" and has strong ties to former president Rodrigo Duterte. Quiboloy is also known for founding Sonshine Media Network. He has been accused of crimes like sex trafficking and money laundering, and the FBI issued a warrant for his arrest. In September 2024, he was arrested after a large bounty was placed on him by the Philippine government.

In a previous report by KAMI, Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s assets have been ordered frozen by the Court of Appeals - Among the fugitive pastor’s assets ordered frozen by the court include several bank accounts, real properties, and aircraft - The court also ordered the freezing of a couple of bank accounts of the operator of Sonshine Media Network International or SMNI. In an article by the Philippine Star quoting a GMA News report, it revealed the Court of Appeals saying in its order that some of the said assets “are linked to unlawful activities and predicate crimes.”

Meanwhile, former President Rodrigo Duterte may face an "obstruction of justice" charge due to his statements about Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. PNP Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil stated that they are currently reviewing Duterte's remarks. Marbil mentioned that they are waiting for witnesses to determine if there is enough basis to file a case under PD 1829. DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos also announced a ₱10 million reward for information leading to Quiboloy's arrest.
