Alice Guo appeared “shocked” after seeing her cell at the Pasig City Jail.

It can be recalled that the dismissed Bamban Mayor was ordered transferred by a Regional Trial Court in Pasig City from the PNP Custodial Facility in Camp Crame to a regular cell at the Pasig City Jail.

BJMP Spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Bustinera, in an interview with ABS-CBN, said that the warden at the Pasig City Jail reported Guo was “shocked” on seeing her jail cell.

The BJMP Spokesperson also said that the dismissed Bamban official seemed to have not expected the condition where she’s going to be detained.

Superintendent Bustinera also said that Guo is sharing her present cell with six other Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL).

“How was the first night of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo in the Pasig City Jail? Tell us more about what happened in the last 24 hours,” the news anchor of ANC/ABS-CBN inquired.

“Well, after we sent her to her assigned cell at around 3:43PM yesterday, the feedback from our female warden there was that she was "shocked" with the conditions of her cell because I think she was expecting a different cell,” Superintendent Bustinera said.

“During the night, there was no incident reported to us as to any negative incident or any incident report. We have received no report yet so we believe she had a normal situation in the Pasig City Jail female dorm,” the BJMP Spokesperson added.

Alice Leal Guo was the Mayor of the Municipality of Bamban, Tarlac, and was eventually dismissed. She won as mayor during the national elections in 2022. She became known nationwide after her name was dragged into the ongoing Senate investigations regarding Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGO) and the alleged proliferation of illegal immigrants. Her name has been the subject of many online memes since then.

Yesterday, September 23, Guo underwent a sputum test to determine if she has tuberculosis. This came after the result of her X-ray from the medical examination of the PNP showed a possible lung infection. The sputum test results was released by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP). It showed that the results of the test were negative.

It can be recalled that a previous medical finding showed that Guo may be suffering from a lung infection. The BJMP spokesperson Jail Superintendent Jayrex Joseph Bustinera told Super Radyo dzBB that it was what was discovered on the X-ray on the medical exam conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP). Because of the lung infection, she will be moved to a cell where three inmates suffering from tuberculosis are isolated. Bustinera said that the doctor also noted that the existing inmates have been treated for a month already.
