A man, identified by news reports as a certain ‘Randy’, who fell into the river at Ortigas Extension and went missing for 12 hours, was able to survive his ordeal.

In an interview with Super Radyo dzBB, a video of which was posted by the radio station on its ‘X’ account, ‘Randy’ narrated in detail what really happened to him.

In a report by GMA Balitambayan, it was Monday when ‘Randy’ was reported missing to the Rizal rescue team.

His being missing was also reported by his family to the Rizal PDRRMO and the Philippine Coast Guard.

However, ‘Randy’ appeared after 12 hours and recounted what really happened to him.

“Naglalakad po ako kahapon, natumba po ako, nadulas po ako, tapos dire-diretso na po ako sa ilalim, nalaglag po ako sa ilog, eh mataas po yung tubig, pumasok po ako dun sa ilalim ng tulay,” ‘Randy’ said.
“Eh pagpasok ko sa ilalim, wala na, madilim, blackout, wala akong makita kahit ano, puro basura nakakapa ko, yun nakakapa ako ng kahoy, dun ako humawak,” he added.
“Noong una talaga kinabahan po ako, talagang hindi ko na po alam ang gagawin ko, takot na takot ako pero pinaglabanan ko na lang 'yung takot ko kasi para maka-survive ako. Talagang nagdasal na lang po ako noong huling huli na. Lahat ng kapitang bagay na hinahawakan ko nalalaglag po eh,” he further said.

“Kaya no choice na ako na, 'Diyos ko, katapusan ko na po ba? Kung katapusan ko na, patawarin mo ako Lord.' Dasal na lang ang pinanghahawakan ko kasi wala na, walang nakakarinig sa akin saka ang dilim,” he recounted.
“Noong makakita na ako ng liwanag, doon na ako nag-decide kasi lahat ng sinandalan ko, nalaglag na, tinangay na ng ilog,” he recalled.
“Masayang masaya po ako hindi ko po maipinta ‘yung nararamdaman ko kasi pangalawang buhay ko na. Parang, ‘Lord, salamat po na hindi Ninyo ako pinabayaan.’ Wala akong pinanghawakan kundi Diyos na lang, Diyos lang talaga 'yung kakampi ko,” Randy said.

According to a report by the Inquirer, around 13 people have been reported so far to have perished due to typhoon Enteng.
