According to the report of GMA,the tricycle was struck by an SUV on the highway in Brgy. Maronong, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.

CCTV showed how the SUV driven by a 21-year-old overtook another vehicle, bringing it to the other lane, which led to the collision.

"Umagaw ng linya [at] nag-overtake kaya nabangga niya ang tricycle [o garong]... nag-twist ang tricycle at naibangga pa sa pader," said PLTCOL. Jun Wacnag, Chief of the Sta. Barbara Police Station.

Reports revealed that the impact was very strong, which was why the windshield of the SUV was destroyed and one of its wheels blew out.

The couple's eldest child spoke to GMA and said that it was very painful for them since both parents died.

The family of the 21-year-old student will be talking with the family of the victim.
