In an emotional Facebook post, Chin-Chin Camilon, the sister of the missing Miss Grand Philippines 2023 candidate Catherine Camilon, expressed frustration over the alleged phone use of the suspect in her sister's disappearance. Major Allan De Castro, a police officer, is currently detained and charged with kidnapping and serious illegal detention.
She highlighted alleged leniency in enforcing restrictions on the suspect, questioning why it seems difficult to prohibit phone use when it is a common practice even in less severe circumstances. Chin-Chin emphasized that while they understand the possibility of phone use in restrictive custody, it should be within reason and controllable.
Major De Castro, who admitted to a romantic relationship with Catherine, denies any involvement in her disappearance. Chin-Chin's frustration stems from her perceived favors for the suspect, as she pleads for fairness in the investigation.

"Para lang din syang nasa labas kapag ganto. Alam naman namin na pwede pa gumamit ng phone kahit nasa restrictive custody, pero yung sa amin lang pwede naman alisin ang pag gamit ng phone ng isang suspect," Chin-Chin wrote.
The family is enduring the challenging search for Catherine, and Chin-Chin's plea underscores the difficulty they face in seeking justice.
The post concludes with a poignant appeal: "Hirap na hirap na kami sa paghahanap pero parang lahat na lang nakapabor sa suspect, paano naman kaming pagod na kakaisip, kakahanap, kakatanong, Hindi ko na alam kung san ko pa padadaanin etong panawagan na ito. BAKA NAMAN!!!!"
