The Philippine National Police (PNP) has already released the DNA examination results of the skull and the skeleton found at a site in Palawan, which, as confirmed by PNP in Radyo Bandera Philippines' report, belonged to Jovelyn Galleno.

"Base sa resulta ng DNA examination ng PNP Forensic Group sa DNA samples...una sa natagpuang kalansay at sa ina ni Jovelyn, lumalabas na 99.99 percent na tugma ang resulta," said the spokesperson.

The spokesperson also explained that it was the forensic unit of the PNP that took the samples.

It can be recalled that one of the suspects in the case of Jovelyn, who also happened to be the cousin of the victim, pointed out the place where they allegedly committed the crime.

Jovelyn Gallano is a 22-year-old employee working in a mall in Palawan. She went missing on August 5. According to her sister, her employer said that Jovelyn already signed out from her work around 6:30 p.m. on that day. She was still able to send a message to her sister but she wasn’t able to go home anymore.

The suspect in the case of Jovelyn Galleno showed authorities the place where the alleged crime happened. In a report by Radyo Bandera Philippines, the suspect could be seen pointing at the alleged locations of the crime. He showed authorities where Jovelyn was allegedly assaulted and killed. The suspect also showed the area where they allegedly dumped the belongings of the victim,

Jonalyn Galleno, the sister of Jovelyn, took to Facebook and decried the alleged wrong clothing shown to them. According to Jonalyn, the clothes that were shown do not belong to Jovelyn. She also asked why it was not allowed to take photos of the clothing allegedly belonging to Jovelyn. Jonalyn also added another question, why this was not released to the media.
