A 28-year-old man was arrested in Compostela, Cebu for allegedly stealing P61-worth of bottle of chlorine.

The suspect was identified as Florito Pelit and was a worker at a food manufacturing firm.

According to Sunstar, he tried to sneak out a bottle of chlorine, from the plant.

He was arrested by local police and when he was asked by he tried to sneak out the chlorine, he revealed that he simply wanted to disinfect the rainwater that was stored in the concrete tank so that the water can be used by his two children.

As per Sunstar's report, Lt. Andrew Rellanos, Compostela Police Station chief tried to pay the P61 to the management but the management allegedly would not budge and stood pat in its desire to file a case against its worker.

Manila Bulletin reported that the worker was caught during an inspection by the guard, as he was already on his way home.

Bombo Radyo stated that the chlorine must have come from the housekeeping department.
