In the “It’s Showtime” segment’s episode on June 27, Cheng shared that her seven-year-long relationship with Russell started when they were 14 and 15, respectively. When she was 15, she began living with his late boyfriend and his loving family, whom she considered her own family.
However, in March of 2023, Russell untimely passed away due to a cardiac arrest.
“Sa 7 years po namin, parang wala na kaming problemang 'di masosolusyunan tapos one day, parang isang pitik lang, wala na po,” Cheng emotionally said.

Cheng also recalled the heartbreaking moment when Russell died.
Furthermore, Cheng recalled what she was saying to Russell when they were rushing him to the hospital.

However, Cheng did not hear any response from Russell.
Furthermore, Cheng shared her heart-rending realizations after Russell’s sudden passing.
