Former Senator Tito Sotto announced on his Twitter account that TAPE Inc.’s appeal regarding the Eat Bulaga trademark case has been dismissed.
TAPE Inc. made the appeal after the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) canceled TAPE Inc.’s Eat Bulaga trademark, stating that it is TVJ (Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon) who have the right to trademark Eat Bulaga.
For this reason, TVJ’s show on TV5, will soon be using the title “Eat Bulaga” after months of using “E.A.T.” since separating from TAPE Inc. and GMA.

“Appeal of tape re eat bulaga IPC class 41 dismissed! The People recognized TVJ as Eat Bulaga! Now, GOVT officially recognizes them as such. The others are exponents of sham,” Tito Sotto tweeted.
Joey de Leon is an iconic actor, comedian, and television host in the Philippines. He is a member of the comedy trio Tito, Vic and Joey and has made several comedy movies and TV shows. Joey is also best known for being a pioneer host of the longest-running noontime show in the country, “Eat Bulaga.” It premiered on July 30, 1979.

On his Instagram page, Joey shared a photo of him with “Ellen of Hollywood.” Ellen is a character made using artificial intelligence who reminds the contestants of E.A.T.’s “Gimme 5: Laro ng Mga Henyo” about each round’s mechanics.
Meanwhile, Joey De Leon took to Instagram and shared a short clip about respect. This came after the Intellectual Property Office canceled the "Eat Bulaga" trademark of Tape, Inc. In the clip, Joey said that he does not expect respect from res-fake. Many netizens gave TVJ their support and congratulated them on their win.
