‘Eat Bulaga‘ host Isko Moreno gave an honest interview on ’Updated with Nelson Canlas’ on Spotify.

During the interview, Isko spoke about the rivalry between his show — the TAPE Inc.-produced ‘Eat Bulaga’ on GMA — and Tito, Vic, and Joey’s show — E.A.T. on TV5.

According to Isko, he believes that it is healthy and beneficial for those shows to have a competition. However, he does not believe that competition requires spreading hate and division between the respective hosts and fans of each show.

The controversy began when Tito, Vic, and Joey left ‘Eat Bulaga’ on GMA due to a conflict with TAPE Inc. Tito, Vic, and Joey then started a new show on TV5 called E.A.T. while TAPE Inc. hired new hosts for ‘Eat Bulaga,’ including Isko and Paolo Contis.

"The least we can do is to compete, but not to inculcate hate... I hope everything will turn out better for everyone, because this is our industry. We've heard the complaints on whether the movie industry, the television industry is not doing well. And yet 'pag may mga bagong programa mag-i-initiate tayo ng hate, mag-i-initiate tayo ng galit, mag-i-initiate tayo ng division,” Isko said.

"Eat Bulaga" is the longest-running noontime variety program on Philippine television. The show premiered on July 30, 1979. Its pioneer hosts include showbiz icons Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Tito Sotto. Tape Inc.'s "Eat Bulaga" recently went back live on air on GMA with its new lineup of hosts, including Paolo Contis, Buboy Villar and Betong Sumaya.

Isko Moreno, during his "Fast Talk with Boy Abunda" guesting, shared with Boy the words of wisdom he gave to the “Eat Bulaga” team before they aired last July 1. The former Manila City mayor told them to just enjoy the afternoon and be themselves. He also admitted that they felt so much pressure on that day, when TVJ’s “E.A.T.” was launched and “It’s Showtime” started airing on GTV.

Betong Sumaya recently took to social media and shared a heartfelt post about TAPE's “Eat Bulaga.” He penned a message for “mga Ka-EB” as he marks his first monthsary as one of the noontime show’s new hosts.
