In a post on X on October 9, Denise responded to a netizen who questioned whether Filipinos were qualified to submit entries or win at the prestigious international music awards.
“Please do not ever question Filipinos and their talent because you could find a kid on any random street in the Philippines who could outsing, outdance, and outperform even without access to proper training or resources,” Denise wrote.
“We’ve never been short of talent, and this isn’t about competing with other countries or seeking their validation. It’s about recognizing the wealth of talent we’ve always had and creating more opportunities for it to thrive.”

Denise further underscored her position by pointing out that Filipino artists have long deserved a wider platform to showcase their abilities.
“Filipino talent has always deserved a bigger stage, and that recognition is long overdue,” she maintained.
Her remarks emerged as music fans discussed the possibility of Filipino performers, including BINI, becoming contenders for the 2027 Grammy Awards. Online conversations have particularly focused on the newly introduced Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, with supporters expressing hopes that the P-pop group could receive a nomination or even win.
However, the discussion also drew criticism after a netizen questioned BINI's qualifications, citing the group's lack of awards from South Korean music chart shows.
The remark prompted reactions from Filipino users who defended the group and challenged the idea that recognition from South Korean music programs should determine an artist's talent or potential to succeed internationally.
Denise's statement added her voice to the conversation, emphasizing that Filipino artists already possess considerable talent and deserve opportunities to develop their craft and reach a wider audience.
