“So para sakin when I experienced love for the first time I thought it's going to be forever diba ganun nman tayo pag na experience tayo ng love for some reason parang feeling mo na habangbuhay nandun ka na sa tao na yun and na fe-feel niyo yung forever.”

But he said reality later brought emotional confusion, making him question his place in relationships.

“But for some reason may mga nangyayari tapos nangyayari na naman yung feeling na "okay, pansamantala ba ako o pang forever."”

Maki explained that the title itself is a contrast of two opposing ideas that somehow reflect his lived experiences.

“So habangbuhay pansamantala is like uh, a very contrasting words na ipagsama but for me kasi parang it all makes sense sometimes na parang pag pinagsasama ko sila it reflects yung mga na feel ko ever since.”

He also admitted that the core of the song is his recurring fear of being temporary in other people’s lives.

“Na forever ba kong magiging temporary na tao for other people.”

Despite the painful meaning behind it, he said the concept feels meaningful because of how two opposite ideas can exist together.

“So, medyo masakit siya masakit talaga yung title pero ang galling na dalawang magkaibang mundo, dalawang magkaibang kulay, dalawang magkaibang word, ay pwedeng pagasamahan na isa at mag memake sense yung feeling or kumbaga't tayong lahat ay magrerelate pa din.”

Ralph William Datoon, professionally known as Maki, is a rising Filipino singer-songwriter who gained initial prominence under Tarsier Records with his viral 2023 breakthrough tracks "Saan?" and "Bakit?". He achieved widespread mainstream success with his smash hit "Dilaw," which earned historical significance as only the third OPM song to enter Spotify's global chart.

In another report, Maki opened up about his early hesitation to release songs that carried deeply personal emotions during the start of his music career. He shared that being transparent through tracks such as “Saan,” “Bakit,” and “Kailan” played a major role in defining who he is as an artist today.
