In an interview with Susan Enriquez for Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs, Odette's daughter, Claudette Tandoc, recalled the difficult experience of watching her mother fight multiple serious health complications. She also revealed how Marian and her husband, Dingdong Dantes, extended help during one of the family's most challenging periods.

Claudette shared that Odette spent three weeks in the hospital, from the last week of February until March. Her mother's condition was critical, with several complications affecting her ability to breathe and move comfortably.

Although her mother eventually recovered from the immediate complications, she still needs ongoing medical support.

"Praise God, naayos 'yon. Ngayon sa health niya, may maintenance pa rin ng gamot and ang oxygen sa gabi na lang, and on times na lang na talagang 'pag hirap huminga," she added.

Claudette also explained that Odette has experienced memory lapses and difficulties maintaining her balance. Because of this, the family no longer allows the actress to walk without assistance, and she now uses a wheelchair.

Another health concern is emphysema. According to Claudette, her mother started smoking during her teenage years and only stopped after being hospitalized.

Recalling how frightening the situation became, Claudette admitted that she feared she might not arrive at the hospital in time to see her mother.

"Nag-book ako ng motorcycle going to the hospital. I was praying because, Ms. Susan, I thought hindi ko na maabutan si Mommy O. Ganu'n kakritikal ang lagay niya," she recalled.

The financial burden was also difficult for Claudette, who is an only child, works as a part-time professor, and has her own health concerns.

"It was five years ago when I had the mild stroke. May maintenance na rin po ako," she revealed.

Despite these challenges, Claudette expressed heartfelt appreciation for the people who stepped forward to help her family. She specifically remembered Marian as one of the first individuals who sent financial assistance after she reached out for support.

"For me, napaka-touching story. Na-ER si Mommy O and then na-hospital na. I asked for help. One of the first few people na nagpadala ng financial gift or help was Marian Rivera. And from my heart, uulitin ko lang, kasi nag-send ako Ms Su ng thank you video," she shared.

Claudette reiterated her gratitude to the actress, emphasizing how much the assistance meant to her and her mother during that difficult period.

She also thanked everyone who contributed, whether through cash donations or hospital guarantee letters. These helped cover medical expenses and allowed her to purchase essential equipment, including a hospital bed and a digital oxygen device.

The continuing expenses, however, remain a concern. Odette needs regular medication, diapers, and a caregiver who can alternate responsibilities with their household helper, Ate Cora.

Claudette also acknowledged Dingdong's efforts in seeking additional assistance for her mother through his position as president of AKTOR Philippines.

"Magpasalamat din ako na si Dingdong, being president of AKTOR Philippines, nag-seek help siya from Film Academy of the Philippines and now pinoproseso ng FAP ang tulong nila for Mommy O. So gusto kong magpasalamat kay Mr. Dingdong Dantes. Napakabait na couple," she said.

One particularly emotional moment happened when Claudette told her mother that Marian had sent financial assistance. At the time, Odette was still frequently falling asleep because of the effects of her medication.

When Claudette mentioned Marian's name, her mother briefly opened her eyes before closing them again. After hearing that the help came from Marian Rivera, Odette appeared to recognize the actress and became emotional.

Claudette recalled that her mother asked her to personally convey her gratitude to Marian.

Odette herself eventually shared an emotional message for the Kapuso actress, expressing how deeply the assistance touched her.

"Marian, for whatever it is, thank you so much. You were there. The help was there. I felt so good. Thank God. You did something beautiful in my heart. Thank you, thank you," the veteran actress said tearfully.

Odette was hospitalized at the National Kidney and Transplant Institute in February due to multiple serious health conditions, including pneumonia, emphysema, and edema.

Marian Rivera is a prominent Filipina actress, model, and television host who rose to superstardom after starring in the hit TV series Marimar (2007). Widely regarded as a pop culture icon and style trendsetter in the Philippines, she is married to fellow actor Dingdong Dantes.

In another report, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes made a special visit to the “Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0” house as celebrity guests. Marian took notice of the male housemates’ bedroom and praised them for keeping the space clean and orderly. Impressed by their effort, she said she would ask Big Brother to prepare a special reward for them.

Meanwhile, Marian Rivera opened up about the process she and Dingdong Dantes follow when choosing projects, particularly when a production could require her to be away from their children. She shared that Dingdong considers her comfort and does not pressure her to accept a project if she feels unable to commit to it.
