Among the incidents that remained vivid in her memory was the disappearance of her footwear while she was staying in her room during a pageant.

The actress did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the incident, but she recalled that the missing shoes were eventually discovered in the rooms of different contestants.
Despite this unpleasant experience, Ruffa also had plenty of positive memories from her participation in beauty competitions. She particularly treasured the opportunity to spend time with other candidates, especially since social media was not yet part of everyday life during that period.
According to her, the contestants had more opportunities to interact personally and establish connections outside the competition.
“Another experience I'll never forget, wala pang social media noon so we really had fun bonding with the candidates. Yes, may mga inggitan, hindi naman mawawala 'yun, but I made more friends,” sabi ni Ruffa.
Although she acknowledged that jealousy was sometimes inevitable in pageants, Ruffa emphasized that her overall experience allowed her to build meaningful relationships with other women.
Some of those connections have also stood the test of time. Among the fellow beauty queens she remains friends with is Miss Turkey Emel Yıldırım, whom she met during her pageant journey.
Aside from the friendships and unexpected incidents, Ruffa also remembered one particular international destination that made her pageant experience even more memorable.
She revealed that her trip to Sun City in South Africa was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as she never had another opportunity to visit the place after that trip.
“And that time also, it was my first and last time to visit Sun City, South Africa. I was only 18 at that time; I just turned 19, so talagang bata pa 'ko nu'n,” dagdag ni Ruffa.
Looking back, Ruffa's stories offered a glimpse into her early years in the beauty pageant industry, highlighting how the experience involved more than competing for a crown. From unexpected incidents to friendships that lasted for decades, those moments became part of the memories she continues to treasure.
