Taking to his verified Instagram account @tjmusicmonterde, the singer-songwriter posted a deeply emotional video reel paired with a heartfelt eulogy following Makoy's passing. TJ admitted that he is still struggling to process the painful reality of losing someone so close to him.

"Never thought I’d have to post something like this. Feeling ko talaga may glitch lang somewhere — parang may mali, parang hindi dapat ganito," TJ expressed with profound sadness.

"Akala ko talaga makakasama kita hanggang sa pagtanda, brad. Yung tipong hirap na mag bar-chords, at mabagal, pero togs pa rin, ganon," he confessed.

The tribute video opened with TJ recounting fond memories of their early days, including moments when they would pool together their remaining 50 pesos just to buy a buy-one-take-one burger at a local burger store, walking along the street hoping to find spare coins for drinks.

The clip also showcased their shared musical journey through the years—spanning dozens of live gigs, extensive concert tours, backstage prayers, international travels, and sold-out arena shows where Makoy faithfully accompanied TJ on guitar which inspired many.

A title card in the video honored Makoy's legacy: "Since Day 1, through countless gigs, 42 SNM shows, 18 In Between shows, and life itself, you were a brother to us all and a loyal servant of God."

While grieving the deep loss, TJ found solace in knowing that his dear friend is now in peace with the Lord.

"But you are with our Creator now — your heart’s greatest desire," TJ wrote. "Salamat sa lahat ng binigay mo, bai. Sa generosity mo, sa puso mo, at sa kabutihan mong hindi mo ipinagdamot sa aming lahat. Maraming salamat sa buhay mo."
