The Sparkle actress made the revelation during the recent media conference for the upcoming film Saving Cherry, which stars award-winning actress Barbie Forteza. Members of the cast were asked about various topics related to love, second chances, and even their dream weddings.
Speaking in Aubrey Carampel's "Chika Minute" report on 24 Oras, Mikee explained that being single has allowed her to prioritize herself in ways she had not fully appreciated before.
“Totoo 'yung mga sinasabi ng tao, when you're single, you have more time to love yourself and I hope anyone in a relationship and my plan also when I get back into one, 'di magbago 'yung part na 'yon. Kaya habang single pa, pina-practice ko na siya,” she said.

The actress emphasized that self-love has become an important part of her life and that she hopes to maintain that balance even when she eventually enters another relationship.
While she admitted that she is not yet ready to fall in love again, Mikee also revealed that she is beginning to open herself to the idea of dating.
“Hindi pa, hindi pa. But I'm ready to date. I think I'm ready to date. I'm ready to try to open up again.”
Apart from her acting career, Mikee has also been devoting time to architecture, the degree she completed before pursuing her career further. Instead of immediately taking the licensure examination, she decided to gain practical experience in the profession first.
She shared that she has partnered with her college best friend, who is already a licensed architect, to strengthen her knowledge and confidence before taking the board exam.
“I partnered with my bestfriend nung college na lisensyadong architect na and I'm actually in it for experience talaga more than anything. Para before ako mag-boards, mas may experience ako. Sure ako kung may experience ako, may mga tanong don na masasagot ko e.”
Mikee also expressed optimism that she will finally take the Architecture Licensure Examination next year.
“Maybe next year, I'll take the boards. Sayang naman 'yung sampung taon kung 'di ko ibo-boards 'di ba,” she said.
For now, Mikee remains focused on personal growth, balancing her flourishing entertainment career with her long-term goal of becoming a licensed architect while gradually opening herself to new possibilities in love.
