James Reid is returning to primetime television with a renewed sense of excitement and vulnerability as he stars alongside Kathryn Bernardo and Maja Salvador in ABS-CBN's upcoming drama series Someone, Someday.

During a solo media conference held on July 14, the actor candidly reflected on what it was like to work with a different leading lady after spending much of his acting career paired with another screen partner. He admitted that while the experience brought excitement, it also came with genuine nervousness.
According to James, the long-awaited collaboration with Kathryn had been anticipated by many fans for years, making the project even more meaningful.
"As far as it comes to working together, I think the crossover of me and Kath working together has been long anticipated actually by a lot of the fans. This [newly] opened way of working together is allowing for more possibilities, a time for more opportunities, such as Someone, Someday to exist," he shared.

The actor also teased viewers about the unique relationship between their characters in the series.
"Tsaka hindi normal 'yung kwento nila, 'yung relationship nila. I think it's a very special relationship that they have," he continued.
Despite his initial concerns, James revealed that adjusting to Kathryn was easier than he expected because both of them were determined to create something audiences had never seen before.
"I think, luckily there weren't too many adjustments on working with a different lead actress. I think, the experience itself is different – how me and Kath put together these new characters and try to come up with very new that people haven't seen yet."
He added:
"I didn't want to give the fans something they've already seen. We really want to create something new, something fresh, [giving them] a brand new experience."
James even recalled confessing his anxiety to Kathryn during their first days together on set.
"I actually told Kath when we first started working, 'I'm so nervous. I actually haven't worked with another leading lady.' And then she was like, 'It's okay, I know how you feel.' At least we're on the same page."
As production continued, the cast spent time bonding while developing their respective characters, allowing their working relationship to grow naturally.
Beyond Kathryn, James also spoke highly of Maja Salvador, saying both actresses inspired him throughout the production.
"Working with Kath and Maja, I was amazed. I was actually very grateful on how hands on Kath was with the script, storytelling, and the characters."
He continued:
"And Maja, the character she plays isn't easy. The way she has to weave herself in the story is quite complicated."
James described the project as another learning experience, saying he considers himself fortunate to be working alongside two of the industry's most respected actresses.
The actor likewise admitted that returning to television after almost ten years came with enormous pressure.
"To be honest, I was very, very nervous. Kasi I felt all of the nerves, the pressure, kasi ito 'yung comeback project ko."
He also acknowledged that the series represented several major milestones for everyone involved.
"It's also Kathryn's comeback to teleseryes, even Maja, even Direk Chad... So many firsts, so many comebacks, and I was super nervous. I really felt the nerves. I think everybody felt it, not just me."
James credited the cast, directors Chad Vidanes and Dolly Dulu, and Dreamscape Entertainment for making him feel welcomed throughout filming.
"Luckily, it's been a great experience working with Kathryn and Maja... syempre with Direk Chad and Direk Dolly, they made it such a collaborative, welcoming experience. Of course, to my Dreamscape family, thank you so much for welcoming me back home with such open arms. It feels like I never really left."
Someone, Someday follows Billy, played by Kathryn Bernardo, whose life unexpectedly changes after meeting Jordan, portrayed by James Reid, while the mysterious Abby, played by Maja Salvador, enters the picture. The series will premiere on Netflix on July 24 before expanding to other platforms and television beginning July 27.
