During a candid guest appearance on Abby Asistio and Gee Canlas' Say Wuht?! Podcast on YouTube, Iwa opened up about the early days of her relationship with partner Pampi Lacson, and the heavy emotional toll of public judgment. She recalled the immense pain of being wrongly targeted by onlookers who assumed she broke up Pampi's previous marriage with known actress Jodi Sta. Maria.
"Dati, they used to call me kabit. Ang sakit kasi alam mo hindi totoo. Yung ganun? Kasi akala ng lahat ng tao, I was the reason why Pampi and Jodi broke up," Iwa bared openly.
Dealing with the heavy backlash, Iwa remembered questioning why she couldn't just find peace in her life.

"Sabi ko, 'Hindi ba ako pwedeng maging happy? Wala naman akong tinapakang tao. Nandito ako ngayon sa posisyon na gusto ko lang maging masaya,'" she recalled.
Driven by distress, Iwa reached out to an unexpected person—Jodi, which earned grand reactions from the hosts.
"Ang taong tinawagan ko, hulaan niyo kung sino, si Jodi," Iwa shared. "Siya pa yung nag-comfort sakin, 'Madam, hayaan mo sila. Alam natin yung totoo.' Tas dun ko na-realize na, tama nga ano? Though alam ko na siya, pero hearing it from someone na... alam niya eh. Alam niya yung nasa story. It was, 'Okay, I'm good,'" she revealed.
While they enjoy a close sisterhood today, Iwa clarified that establishing this peaceful dynamic did not happen overnight. Since Pampi and Jodi were still going through their legal annulment and a young child, Thirdy, was involved, everyone had to tread lightly.

"Hindi siya naging madali. Hindi ko sasabihin na [sa isang pitik] ay ganun na lang, tropa na kami. Dumaan kami sa butas ng karayom kasi hindi niya ako kilala, hindi kami personally magkakilala ni Jodi," Iwa detailed transparently.
According to Iwa, she made a conscious choice to always respect Jodi’s boundaries as a mother.
"I just made sure na hindi ko tatapakan yung pagkananay niya, na magiging nanay ako ng anak mo kapag nasa akin siya tas dun nag-umpisa yung iniisip ko na hindi na ako, hindi na si Pampi, kundi yung bata na."
Ultimately, Iwa credits the success of their inspiring family dynamic to Jodi's inherently good nature, concluding, "One thing that I can say, marespetong tao si Jodi. I respect her and kumbaga it goes both ways."
The moving interview has quickly garnered heavy praise from listeners online, with netizens deeply lauding both women for their inspiring emotional maturity and showing the true definition of a modern, loving family.
Iwa Moto is a Filipina actress and former reality show contestant who first gained recognition through StarStruck, GMA Network’s artist search program. After her exposure on StarStruck, she became known for playing villain roles in various television dramas such as Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap and Darna. Aside from acting, she also appeared on several magazine covers and took part in other TV programs. Over time, Iwa gradually stepped away from the showbiz spotlight and focused more on her personal life. She is the partner of Pampi Lacson, the son of former Senator Panfilo Lacson, and they have two children named Eve (or Mimi) and Caleb Jiro.
As previously reported by KAMI, Iwa Moto revealed the reason as to why she fully stepped away from show business back then. She also looked back at her previous relationship and 2010 marriage with Mickey Ablan. During her interview, Iwa also recalled how "messy" their annulment had become at one point. Reflecting on her past heartbreaks, Iwa shared that her life lesson is to always save some love for yourself too.
Meanwhile, Iwa Moto filmed herself dancing and lip-syncing to a song right in front of their bathroom door. Pampi Lacson was caught completely off guard as the door opened, revealing him sitting on the toilet. His shocked face and his attempt to hide from the camera became the highlight of the video. Iwa then jokingly shared a "moral of the story" for her followers to avoid similar embarrassing situations.
