Kakai had earlier questioned why many people were angry over Apple's relationship with Chad, saying that it was ultimately their personal decision.
“Bakit galit na galit kayo kung nagkagusto ang 18-year-old sa kaniya. Buhay niya ‘yan. Pinakailaman niya ba ‘yong buhay n’yo no’ng naglandi kayo?”
Her comments quickly sparked backlash on social media, with some netizens accusing her of enabling the controversial relationship.
In response to the criticism, Kakai stood by her position and argued that those who believed something illegal had occurred should take formal action instead of attacking people online.
“Kung sa tingin n'yo na masama nga 'yong ginagawa, mag-file kayo ng complaint. But I researched everywhere, wala namang nag-compain about their relationship. Kayo lang mainngay.”
She also emphasized that she wished the couple well despite the public criticism.
“Whatever it is that I have, I'm happy for them.”
“Hayaan n'yo nang maging masaya 'yong tao.”
Apple David became the subject of widespread discussion after she shared a photo with Chad on social media without initially revealing his face. The controversy intensified after she appeared to maintain that there was nothing wrong with their relationship, prompting continued debate and criticism from many online users.
Joy's reaction has since added another layer to the ongoing conversation, with many social media users weighing in on her post and expressing differing opinions about Kakai's remarks and the controversy surrounding Apple.

The senator said she plans to seek the assistance of the German Embassy after the game's developer declined to attend a Senate hearing. Barcoma argued that protecting children should focus more on stronger family guidance, education, mental health support, and early intervention.
Meanwhile, Miss Earth Philippines 2025 Joy Barcoma also weighed in on the controversy involving Filipino-American pageant titleholders Brandon Espiritu and Jether Palomo. The issue arose from a now-deleted viral video that drew criticism over remarks related to representing the Philippines.
