However, actor and comedian Pepe Herrera showed that his priorities are completely straight during a guest appearance on the Say Wuht?! Podcast, hosted by Gee Canlas and Abby Asistio.

During the sit-down conversation, the topic shifted to relationship power dynamics, with Pepe explaining that he views his wife, Sarah "Sam" Mallari, as a true authority figure in their partnership and home life.

"That's me doing that out of respect of that authority. Yung wife kasi may authority siya over the household and the relationship," Pepe explained calmly.

Intrigued by his traditional respect, Gee asked a crucial follow-up question: "If for example, nagkaroon ka ng role, tapos you're saying that Sam has somewhat [an] authority in the marriage, what if she deemed it na, 'Pepe, parang di ako comfortable, okay lang bang wag?'" Without an ounce of hesitation, Pepe replied, "Oo, eh di hindi."

Pepe's smooth willingness to drop a job out of respect for his partner left Gee completely pleasantly surprised.

"Ah, that's nice! Ang ganda naman," Gee reacted honestly, flashing a wide smile.

The host pointed out that a lot of individuals in the industry often push back against their spouses when it comes to creative gigs, usually hiding behind the classic excuse of "it's just a job" or their dream.

While Pepe acknowledged that he cannot speak for the rest of the other artists, and that he also understands said perspective, he simply concluded: "Life and death situations for me can be different for other artists."

On a more serious note, Pepe also concluded that there are infinite stories left to tell in the industry, and missing one role to protect his wife's peace of mind will never be a true loss.

The two used to work together in the TV action series, ‘Ang Probinsyano.' The comedian said that he loves to make Susan laugh because it’s so easy to make her crack up. He then gave a touching tribute to the veteran actress, whom he lovingly referred to as “Lola Flora.”
