Speaking on KC After Hours with Karmina Constantino, Kim reflected on how Fely's success in the finance industry became a major source of stability when they started married life together.
Kim said his wife gave him the confidence to leave politics and fully pursue his long-time dream of working in television.
"I have my courage because of Fely. You know, there was a turning point in my life when I had to totally reinvent myself and turn a hundred and eighty degrees from what I used to. My dream in life is to be on television... I was able to see the signs and decide after seeing the signs with courage because I know that Fely was there behind me."

He also revealed that Fely was already financially established when they got married, while he was still beginning his career and had little income.
"To disclose also, Fely was also there financially. Because when I married Fely, she was a woman already. I was an aspiring politician, wala namang kita dun. I was starting out on television, hindi pa ako kumikita."
According to Kim, they were already able to build financial security because of Fely's successful career as a stockbroker.
"We had a nest egg. When Fely and I got married, we already had a house. We bought a house. Sa Forbes pa nga 'yung una naming bahay. Because she could afford it."
He added that Fely had risen through the ranks in the finance industry before being promoted to Merrill Lynch London, where she handled major markets in Southeast Asia.
Kim also shared that his wife carefully planned for their family's future long before many couples would think about it.
"When we got married, we were comfortable because we had a nest egg. Fely had allocated money for the children's school abroad... We were set for three kids."
He further revealed that their first home had also been purchased through Fely's financial planning.
"Our first house that Fely bought was in Forbes. Kasiyahan Village... And then binili na niya. Kasi okay na kami eh."
