Actor and comedian Pepe Herrera has cleared the air regarding his much-talked-about viral interaction with actress Claudine Barretto.
The two stars recently captured the internet's attention when they shared a spontaneous kiss during the star-studded red carpet premiere of Home Along Da Riles: Da Reunion. Guesting on a recent episode of the Say Wuht?! Podcast, Pepe sat down with hosts Gee Canlas and Abby Asistio to share the backstory behind the moment that made headlines.

Pepe explained that before the event, he and the team had already discussed potentially reenacting a sweet scene from the famous project.
"Napag-usapan yun. Sabi ko wala namang problema sakin, game naman ako kahit ano," the actor shared cheerfully.

Being a protective and transparent father, Pepe first made sure to explain the situational context to his child.
"Sabi ko, 'Paypay, mamaya may makikita ka uli sa eksena baka magulat ka but it's just acting ha? Magki-kiss si daddy tsaka si Tita Claudine for the wedding. Tapos ire-reenact namin yun after nung movie,'" he recounted.
When asked if his real-life partner, Sarah "Sam" Mallari, felt any jealousy over the viral red carpet kiss, Pepe quickly smiled and shook his head.
"Hindi ka ba naaapektuhan pag may mga kissing scene ako? 'Hindi. Parte na ng trabaho mo yun eh,'" Pepe recalled Sam telling him.
Instead of being upset, Pepe revealed that his wife actually found the entire situation incredibly amusing.
"Actually, tumatawa pa siya pag nakikita niya na sa wedding magkaganyan yung mukha namin ni Claudine. Tinatawanan niya, mukhang tukmol daw! Tawang-tawa siya sakin eh," Pepe joked.
