Actress and content creator Ivana Alawi has spoken out against the continued online criticism directed at women over the way they dress, emphasizing that clothing should never determine the respect a person deserves.

Through a post on her Facebook page, Ivana addressed the common remarks often made against women whenever they experience harassment. She pointed out that many people continue to blame women instead of condemning those responsible for disrespectful behavior.
“'Puro ka pasexy' 'Paano hindi babastusin eh tignan mo naman ang suot mo?' Andaming opinion ng tao about women. Madaming posts patungkol sa damit at dapat sinusuot ng mga babae para sila ay respetuhin,” Ivana wrote.
She firmly rejected the idea that respect should be based on appearance or clothing.

“Ang respeto sa babae ay hindi dapat nakabase sa haba ng kanyang pananamit, o kung anong sinusuot niya. Walang anumang kasuotan ang nagbibigay ng karapatan sa iba para husgahan, maliitin, o bastusin ka.”
The actress explained that character and the way a person treats others remain far more important than physical appearance.
“Sa dulo ng araw, mas mahalaga ang kabutihan ng puso, ang respeto sa kapwa, at kung paano mo pinakikitunguhan ang ibang tao.”
She further reminded the public that every woman deserves dignity regardless of her appearance, body type, or social status.
“Lahat ng babae ay karapat-dapat respetuhin anuman ang suot, anuman ang hugis ng katawan, anuman ang estado sa buhay.”

“Hindi ko po ma-consider na achievement yung pagtaas ng followers kung may mga kababaihan naman pong ibinababa para lang may maitaas.”
She continued by saying she finds no happiness in seeing other women criticized or belittled using her name.
“Hindi po ako masaya na may mga kapwa babae na bina-bash, kinukumpara, o minamaliit gamit ang pangalan ko.”
LANS concluded by stressing that women should never be forced to fit a specific image just to earn respect.
“Women do not have to fit one image to deserve respect.”
She ended her message by reminding everyone that clothing is never an invitation for disrespect.
