In her interview with Morly Alinio, Candy shared that some of the most painful experiences she endured were caused by people she never thought would judge or treat them differently.

“Noong first time na nangyari po 'yun, nasasaktan pa ako.

According to Candy, these incidents happened more than once, particularly during parties and social gatherings. She noticed that Quentin would often find himself alone and had learned to bring toys with him to keep himself occupied.

She also recalled instances when even some relatives seemed indifferent toward her son.

While the experiences were heartbreaking, Candy said they also became opportunities for growth and reflection. One of the moments she remembers most involved Quentin comforting her during a difficult time.

“There was a time na umiiyak ako. Nahuli ako ni Quentin first time. Sabi niya, 'Why cry?'”

“Did you do something bad?” Quentin asked.
“No.”
“You have no problem.”

Candy admitted that her son's simple response gave her a new perspective and reminded her not to dwell on the negativity of others.

She described Quentin as her “ticket to heaven” and credited him for teaching her valuable lessons she never expected to learn.

Candy also offered words of encouragement to fellow parents facing similar struggles.

“Kaya huwag niyong sukuan. Pwede po kayong mapagod. Huwag lang kayo sumuko.”
“Kasi hindi po tayo sinusukuan ng Panginoon.”

Despite the pain caused by judgment and misunderstanding, Candy remains steadfast in her role as a mother, drawing strength from the lessons, resilience, and unconditional love she continues to receive from Quentin.
