In her Instagram post, Candy mentioned how much has changed in just one year. She recalled how they were once praying side-by-side for a specific intention.

"Last Mother's day kasama pa kita. We were praying together for an intention. Ngayon pinagdadasal pa rin natin ang isa't isa. Di nga lang tayo physically together," Candy wrote.

"Mama, thank you. I miss you. Masakit po ipin ko. Alam ko naman sasabihin mo, 'Mag-toothbrush ka kasi.' Yung karinyo brutal. Lakas mang-alaska at patawa, sa iyo galing yun."

Candy admitted that the mix of physical pain from her tooth and the emotional pain of missing her mother left her feeling a bit confused, one that many were able to relate to as well.

"Umiyak ako pero tumigil agad kasi nalito na ako kung ano iniiyakan ko, ikaw ba o sakit ng ipin ko?" she wondered, her raw and honest thoughts earning praise.

Despite the heartbreak, Candy remains firm in her faith. She closed her post by greeting both her mother and the Virgin Mary, asking for continued prayers for her and her son.
