In a recent Instagram story, the actress shared a screenshot of a news report from ABS-CBN about her return to acting after a three-year break. Sunshine used this opportunity to give her fans a clearer picture of her current health situation and what she can realistically manage on set.
"Thanks @abscbnnews. For the past three years, game pa rin naman ako pagdating sa mga events, billboard shoots, at endorsements," Sunshine shared, giving a shoutout to her continuous brand partnerships like Bench and Cathy Valencia Skin Clinic.

However, when it comes to heavy acting commitments, things are a bit different for her. Sunshine has been battling Myasthenia Gravis, a rare chronic condition that causes the voluntary muscles in the body to weaken and tire out very quickly.

Because of this, the actress had to make some tough choices to safeguard her physical well-being.
"Pero dahil sa Myasthenia Gravis ko, kailangan kong mag-stick sa mga guest appearances muna. I've declined at least 10 shows for three years and would love to do more, pero ito lang talaga ang kaya ko sa ngayon," she admitted.
Just recently, Sunshine shared that her neurologist finally gave her the medical clearance to shoot a guest role for an upcoming series. While she is incredibly excited to act again, she is keeping a realistic boundary on her workload.
