Kapamilya actor Joaquin Arce made a heartfelt and carefully planned move as he asked fellow Kapamilya star Lella Ford to be his date for the upcoming Star Magical Prom: The Future, scheduled this June 26.

In a video featured on Star Magic’s YouTube channel, Joaquin revealed that he had been preparing the special promposal for quite some time, putting effort into making the moment memorable and meaningful.

“Star Magic prom is coming up. I’ve been planning this for a while–– yung promposal ko. Siyempre, magpo-prompose ako kay Lella,” Joaquin expressed.

To execute his plan, Joaquin arranged a surprise inside a cinema, making sure Lella would believe she was only attending a regular block screening. With the help of Lella’s friends and Star Magic staff, everything was coordinated to keep the surprise under wraps until the big reveal.

“Sobrang kabado ko ngayon… I’ve booked this entire cinema. Lella does not know that I booked it. Lella doesn’t know that it’s a block screening. Sa isip niya, it’s just a normal cinema. It’s just a regular move that they’re watching,” he added.

As part of his creative concept, Joaquin designed a movie clapper-style sign, reflecting their shared passion as actors. The personalized detail made the moment more symbolic and fitting for both of them.

“Obviously movie clapper siya kasi pareho kaming actor. Inday yung nickname ko sa kanya tapos ito yung scene 1 take 1. Ibig sabihin, isa lang yung take. Sana success lahat, sana mag yes siya,” he said.

Inside the cinema, Lella was first shown a video compilation highlighting moments between her and Joaquin. Confused at first, she eventually realized that the screening was not what she expected.

The emotional surprise culminated when Joaquin personally appeared and officially asked her to be his prom date. Without hesitation and visibly overwhelmed, Lella responded with joy.
