The ultimate heartbreak has hit the family of Jerome Ponce as they face the sudden loss of a beloved family member.

Jerome took to Instagram on June 14, 2026, to share his immense grief over the passing of his youngest brother, Jesus Omboy Porciuncula, whose death was initially announced by their family earlier in the week.

According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Jerome uploaded a series of photos looking back at their relationship, including fond childhood snapshots of Omboy which has since touched the hearts of his fans.

He used a personal and emotional caption to express his love, referencing their shared love for gaming.

"Boy... mahal kita sobra, maaabot ko rin rank mo.. hintay lang," Jerome wrote with a heavy heart. "GGWP (Good Game, Well Played.)"

The brothers shared an incredibly tight connection. In an earlier interview with PUSH, Jerome even candidly spoke about how proud he was that his youngest brother constantly looked up to him as a role model.

"Pinaka-close ko sa family, my youngest brother," Jerome previously shared. "Siya kasi ang nakikita kong better version of me as early as now kasi, I mean, I'm not his dad pero naglu-look forward siya sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. Lahat ng ginagawa ko, gusto niyang gawin," he added.

According to ABS-CBN, the strong bond between the siblings was built on simple everyday moments. They regularly spent their time playing video games, playing sports, and having long talks with one another too.

"So talagang may mga times na tinatanong niya, 'Anong dapat kong gawin dito?' Humihingi siya ng advice," Jerome recalled fondly. "Lahat ng laro na gusto, as simple as laro, sports, gino-go niya, nagtatanong siya, 'Kuya, sama ako', tapos biglang naririnig ko, 'Kuya, ang saya pala maglaro nito.'"

Meanwhile, their mother, Gema, confirmed the news through a Facebook post. While the family has chosen not to disclose the cause of his passing at this moment, she asked the public to keep them in their thoughts.

"It is with great sadness that we share that my beloved son, Jesus Omboy, is now with our Heavenly Father," Gema wrote. "As we grieve this heartbreaking loss, we ask that you keep him and our family in your thoughts and prayers."

The actor is now feeling happier and more focused on being a better person. Nonetheless, he lamented that there were people who had malicious comments about his viral photos with a fan. This came after rumors surfaced that the two had already broken up, especially after Sachzna’s tearful video circulated online and after they unfollowed each other on social media. On his Instagram Story, Jerome shared the song Love the Way You Lie by Eminem and Rihanna. He also posted it on his Facebook account along with the timestamp 0:25–1:40.
