During an episode of TRGGRD!, the Kapuso Primetime Princess opened up about her long-term plans, her evolving career, and the goals she continues to pursue as an actress.

Now 28 years old, Barbie shared that she is currently transitioning into more mature roles as she enters a new phase of her career. Along with accepting more challenging projects, she believes her public image and personal branding must continue to evolve as well.

“'Pag nag-level up na 'yung projects na tinatanggap mo, kasabay 'yan ng image mo, kasabay 'yan ng branding mo,” Barbie said.

The actress began her television journey at just 12 years old when she portrayed young Jodi in the Philippine adaptation of Stairway to Heaven. Over the years, she became known for portraying wholesome and relatable lead characters in various Kapuso programs.

Looking back on her achievements, Barbie admitted that she considers the success of Maria Clara At Ibarra as one of the highest points of her career. However, rather than chasing bigger milestones, she is now focused on making wise decisions and maintaining stability with the support of her family and management team.

“I'm really really grateful na natrabaho ko [ang career ko] nang maayos to be where I am right now,” she said.

Barbie also reflected on her successful love team partnership with David Licauco. While she acknowledged the positive impact it had on her career, she emphasized that being part of a love team was never her ultimate goal.

“Being in a love team is a really good experience kasi teamwork siya, matututo kang magtrabaho nang may kasama,” she said.
“It's definitely good business.”

For Barbie, the bigger dream has always been to become a respected actress capable of working alongside some of the industry's most admired performers, including megastar Sharon Cuneta. She expressed excitement over sharing the screen with the veteran actress in the upcoming series Honor Thy Mother.

The actress also recalled how determined she was to pursue acting from a young age.

“Ginusto ko talaga saka ginapang namin 'yun kasi hindi kami mayaman,” Barbie said.
“Ever since, eto 'yung gusto kong gawin, eto 'yung passion ko. Malinaw 'yung end goal ko. Walang hesitation, walang hazy part of my career na I would stop.”

Although she admitted experiencing burnout throughout her journey, she stressed that leaving the industry was never an option.

“Na-burnout, yes. Thinking of quitting, never.”

Barbie likewise expressed gratitude to Sparkle and GMA for supporting her choices and providing opportunities that allowed her to grow.

“GMA keeps giving me good opportunities and chances where I can prove myself. I'm meant to be here, I belong here, and I want to stay,” she announced.

As she continues her career, Barbie described herself as being in her “quiet era,” enjoying more privacy and spending meaningful time with herself while remaining committed to the craft she has loved since childhood.
