Janice de Belen has opened up about daughter Kaila Estrada’s relationship with Daniel Padilla, sharing her honest thoughts as a mother while emphasizing the importance of trusting her children.

The veteran actress addressed the much-talked-about romance during her appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on May 29. The relationship between Kaila and Daniel has been among the most discussed celebrity pairings since rumors first surfaced in late 2025.

Speculation intensified in April 2026 when Kaila appeared to publicly confirm the relationship after posting photos of herself with Daniel on her Instagram Stories.

Asked about the romance, Janice said her main concern is her daughter’s happiness.

“I am just happy that Kaila is happy,” said Janice.

She added that every parent ultimately wants to see their children living fulfilling lives.

“Yun lang. Para sa isang parent, ang gusto mo lang ay maging masaya sila. When you see that your child is happy, ano’ng karapatan mong makialam at gumitna dun sa happiness?”

While expressing support for the relationship, Janice admitted that she still carries natural concerns as a mother. She explained that she often reminds her children that parental worries come from a place of love and protection.

“I always tell my children kasi since gusto niyo iyong relationship na iyan, there will always be misgivings coming from me kasi ang gusto mo lang naman as a parent hindi sila masaktan diba? Iyon lang iyon.”

The actress also reflected on her own experiences with love and relationships. According to Janice, she hopes her children will be spared from the heartbreaks and struggles she personally went through in the past.

“Naging rebelde rin ako in a way and I’ve always asked my parents to trust me.”

She further shared that this memory continues to guide her perspective as a parent.

“’Huy, Janice. ’Di ba, sabi mo rin ‘yan dati, pagkatiwalaan ka?’ I have to trust my children na kaya nila, kaya nilang panindigan.”

Despite the public attention surrounding Kaila and Daniel’s relationship, Janice made it clear that her role is not to stand in the way of her daughter’s happiness but to support her while hoping she remains safe from heartbreak.
