“And she was like well you think you’re so cool, Tim Yap doesn’t even know you!”
Looking back, Ava laughed at how silly the fight now sounds.
“At that time, Tim was bringing us into clubs–– it was so much fun knowing Tim.”
“I’m like, I can’t believe that’s your gauge but then I also kind of understood, oo nga he doesn’t.”
Despite their clashes, Isabelle said she was always protective of her younger sister. She recalled confronting a student after learning Ava was being bullied at school.
“I found out someone in school was bullying her, so I went to her classroom and I was like, ‘who here is bullying my sister?’”
“I stood up for her and I got into trouble after.”
According to Isabelle, that incident perfectly reflected their dynamic as sisters.
“I feel like that’s our dynamic–– I can pick on her but I wouldn’t want anyone else to do that.”
She also praised Ava for keeping her grounded and calling her out when necessary.
“She’ll put me in check.”
“She really grounds me.”
Today, the sisters continue to work together through The Sexytime Podcast and as business partners behind Jellytime, a s*xual wellness brand.
