Andrea Brillantes opened up about the lessons she has learned from love, heartbreak, and public relationships during a candid interview with broadcast journalist Karen Davila.

Now 23 years old, Brillantes admitted that while she is still young and continuously learning, her past experiences helped her better understand the importance of peace and privacy in relationships.

“I think 23 is still very young, pero I believe marami po akong natutunan. Ayaw ko i-claim na mas wiser na ako but I've learned a lot,” she said in Davila’s vlog.

The actress reflected on how one of her relationships eventually became public even though it was never part of her original plan. She also recalled how her breakup unexpectedly became a trending topic online.

“Isa lang naman po ’yung naging public relationship ko talaga. ’Yung isa kinailangan ko siyang aminin to address a certain issue. So hindi ko naman pinlano na maging public ’yon,” she shared.
“Sa public breakup, ’yon hindi ko rin pinlano, naging public na lang siya, nag-trending na lang siya,” she added.

Because of those experiences, Brillantes said she realized that some aspects of life are better protected from the public eye.

“Pero natutunan ko siguro na may mga bagay na mas dapat protektahan na lang, na there’s peace and privacy,” she said.

Despite this, the actress admitted that being in love naturally makes people want to openly express their feelings.

“Pero ang hirap din kasi kapag in love ka. Siyempre you want to flaunt, gusto mo ipakita ang taong mahal mo,” she explained.

Brillantes also revealed that she has successfully broken a toxic emotional pattern in relationships.

“Yung gawing mundo ang taong mahal ko. 'Yun po ang tinry ko na i-break,” she said.

She added that she no longer fears being alone or abandoned.

The actress also clarified public perceptions about her love life, insisting that she is not “boy crazy” and can live independently even without a boyfriend.

“Hindi po ako ang lumalapit o naghahanap lagi,” she said.
“So I can live naman without a boyfriend but if mayroong magpapakita at cute naman siya and we get along, eh di why not?” she added.

Brillantes likewise spoke about her current relationship with her non-showbiz boyfriend, saying it feels normal and grounded despite her celebrity status.

“Wala naman po masyadong bago for me kasi it's just a normal relationship for me,” she shared.

Andrea Brillantes is a Filipina actress who first rose to fame as a child star before becoming one of the most recognized young performers of her generation. She gained even wider popularity after portraying the fierce and memorable Marga in the hit teleserye Kadenang Ginto. Along with Francine Diaz, Kyle Echarri, and Seth Fedelin, she became part of the well-known group called The Gold Squad. Andrea previously dated basketball player Ricci Rivero before their reported breakup in 2023.
