Chito Miranda recently shared a funny and heartwarming behind-the-scenes moment from his surprise performance with Kamikazee during one of their recent shows.

In a social media post, the Parokya ni Edgar frontman revealed that he almost missed the chance to jam with the band because there had been no prior discussion about it backstage.
“Medyo na-late ako ng pasok kasi di namin napag-usapan ni Jay na ja-jam ako,” Chito shared.
He explained that when he finally arrived backstage, Jay Contreras did not mention anything about him joining the performance. Because of this, Chito and his wife, Neri, simply watched from the side of the stage while Kamikazee performed.

The singer admitted he hesitated to suddenly join the group while they were performing the hit song “Narda.”
“So nung set na nila, nanood lang kami ni Neri sa gilid,” he said.
Chito added that he stayed quietly on the side at first because he felt shy about interrupting the set. However, he started sensing that the band might already be expecting him to come up onstage.
“Pagdating ng 2nd stanza, napansin ko na hinahap na ako nila Jay at Jomal,” he recalled.
That realization pushed him to quickly run toward the stage and grab a microphone from guitarist Jomal Linao since he did not have one ready.
“Ayun...napatakbo tuloy ako bigla, sabay kuha ng mic ni Jomal kasi wala pala ako mic,” Chito shared.
Despite the unexected moment, the vocalist described the experience as something that made him genuinely happy. He also expressed his affection for Kamikazee and joked about Jay teasing him for being older.
“Mahal na mahal ko talaga ang Kamikazee kahit palagi akong niloloko ni Jay na matanda,” Chito wrote.
Chito Miranda, whose full name is Alfonso “Chito” Miranda Jr., is a Filipino singer-songwriter best known as the lead vocalist and one of the founding members of the iconic band Parokya ni Edgar. Aside from his successful music career, he is also a well-known television personality and remains one of the most recognizable figures in the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) industry since the early 1990s.
In a separate report, Chito Miranda recently shared a photo with actress Carmina Villarroel and revealed that their friendship dates back to their Grade 6 days. According to Chito, Carmina was already working as a commercial model at the time, while he was just a 12-year-old kid accompanying a classmate to meet her. He warmly described the actress as “super bait” and said she has stayed just as beautiful through the years.
Meanwhile, Neri Miranda opened up about how she and her husband, Chito Miranda, celebrated Valentine’s Day with a meaningful theatre date. The couple watched Les Misérables, making the occasion extra special for Neri. She also shared her excitement about seeing Lea Salonga perform live and even receiving a greeting from the stage. Adding to the memorable day, their sons surprised them with heartfelt letters and flowers picked from the garden, while their daughter spent the day joining a school debate competition.
