Veteran actress Dina Bonnevie recently opened up about a harrowing experience from 1989, revealing that she was clinically dead for one minute and 10 seconds following a severe medical emergency. The "Love is Never Gone" star shared the details of her encounter with the afterlife, an ordeal sparked by a severe asthma attack triggered by a smoke machine during a taping for her show Loveliness.

Bonnevie recalled that despite her requests to avoid using the machine due to her allergies, the production continued with the effects.

"Hindi na ako makahinga," she said.

Describing the moment her condition worsened. By the time she reached the hospital, she had lost her sight and could only rely on her hearing.

In a state of clinical death, the actress described a surreal out-of-body experience. She narrated how she felt herself standing up from the hospital bed and attempting to touch her sister, only for her hand to pass through her sister’s body.

"Andun yung body ko. Sabi ko, 'nasa'n ako?' And then I saw this cord from my navel to where I was. May silver cord na nakadugtong," she explained.

Her journey continued through what she described as a dark, fast-moving tunnel, eventually leading to a place of immense peace and bright light. Bonnevie emphasized that the feeling of love she experienced was beyond comprehension.

During this state, she underwent a "life review," seeing snapshots of her past, including childhood mistakes and her separation from her former husband. She recalled arguing telepathically with a divine presence, defending her past actions. The experience concluded when she saw her daughter, Danica, at the end of a tunnel. Upon reaching for her daughter’s hand, Bonnevie woke up in the hospital as doctors were using a defibrillator to revive her.

For years, the actress chose to remain silent about the event.

“I didn't tell a soul, kasi baka sabihin lang siraulo ito,” she admitted.

It was only after seeing others share similar near-death experiences that she felt comfortable discussing the phenomenon that reaffirmed her faith in the afterlife.
