Barcoma, the reigning Miss Philippines Earth, addressed bashers who labeled Windorski as an opportunist after she previously represented the United States in Miss Earth 2024. The issue sparked debate online, with some questioning Windorski’s authenticity as a Filipina.

In a post on X, Barcoma strongly rejected these claims and highlighted Windorski’s connection to Filipino causes.

“(Bea Millan-Windorski) IS NOT AN OPPORTUNIST! She literally asked me where she can join protests. SHE RALLIED WITH & FOR FILIPINOS,” she said.

“Don’t ever question her pagka-’Pilipino’ dahil mas Pilipino pa siya kaysa sa mga pinanganak at tumira sa Pinas pero hindi man lang kayang bumoses at ipaglaban ang bansa,” Barcoma stated.

Meanwhile, Windorski has opened up about the challenges she faced during her journey to the crown. In a media interview, she cited Fatima Bosch as a source of inspiration.

“I’m inspired that she’s able to continue her reign and stand up for herself despite all the criticisms because this journey has been really difficult for me,” Windorski shared.

She also revealed that she experienced bullying, particularly about her physical features.

“My chin, but my chin is something I love cause it’s the same chin as my mom, as my lola, and I would rather honor the stories of the women who came before me than fit a certain beauty standard,” she said.
