Robin Padilla is reconsidering his earlier plans to retire, saying he may shift his focus toward spending more time with his wife and children instead of continuing in public service, Philstar reported.

The actor-turned-senator made the remarks during a guest appearance on “Politiko Talks,” where discussions touched on his personal life and future plans. Toward the end of the interview, the topic of selling the family’s Museo de Padilla in Quezon City was raised.

The property, known for its traditional Filipino design with Spanish influences, currently serves as an events venue featuring multiple function halls and ballrooms.

Padilla shared that he had long considered stepping away from work, especially during the early years of his relationship with Mariel Rodriguez.

“2010 pa nung naging lovey-dovey kami ni Mariel, gusto ko nang mag-retire, magpunta sa abroad,” he said.

He added that they had explored living in countries like the Netherlands and Germany, but no final decision was made.

Looking ahead to the 2028 elections, Padilla expressed uncertainty about remaining in politics if systemic changes do not happen.

“I'm sorry, patawarin niyo ako, hindi ko nakikita ang future [sa] sistemang ito,” he said, noting his lack of confidence in the current structure of governance.

The senator also addressed speculation that the sale of Museo de Padilla could be linked to fundraising for a future campaign.

He denied this, emphasizing that he did not rely on financial backing in his previous run. He also revealed preferences for potential buyers.

“Wala akong tiwala sa pesos, mamaya kung saan pa galing 'yan,” Padilla said, adding he would prefer transactions in dollars.

Despite uncertainties in his political career, Padilla indicated that family remains his top priority moving forward.
