Despite the pain, Rivera said she tries to stay strong for her mother by keeping a positive front.

“I try my best to smile and to make her laugh,” she shared, explaining how she sometimes hides her tears by pretending she is simply acting.
She also expressed the emotional burden she carries, saying, “It's so hard seeing my mom and my best friend going through all that na I feel so helpless.”

One of the most distressing moments for Rivera was when her mother experienced a seizure while confined in the hospital.

“And then later that day, du’n ko first time makita 'yung mom ko na nag-seizure,” she recalled, describing how she initially did not understand what was happening.

Rivera thought it was the moment she might lose her mother.

“Tapos nakaka-panic because you don't know what to do,” she said.

Although her mother eventually stabilized, Rivera admitted the experience left a lasting emotional impact.

“Nakaka-trauma ‘to,” she said, noting how difficult it has been to process everything. Still, she remains hopeful and continues to show strength each day.
