Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda recently shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story from their latest gig, proving that the bond between the band members is as strong—and as funny—as ever.

In a new Instagram post, Chito jokingly opened up about his 'competition' with the band’s back-up vocalist, Francis Vincent "Vinch" Montaner.

"Mula noon, hanggang ngayon, nagtatalo pa rin kami ni Vinch kung sino ba talaga dapat ang bokalista ng Parokya," Chito shared alongside photos of them on stage.

The 'rivalry' seemingly took a serious turn during their performance at 12 Monkeys, where Chito revealed that he woke up that day with a sore throat and a voice he dubbed was "basag," even though he had plenty of sleep the night before.

"Ayun... akala ni Vinch chance niya na," Chito teased, implying that his longtime friend was ready to step into the spotlight already.

Despite the vocal setback, the show went on. Chito thanked the crowd for being so supportive and not minding his voice. He credited the audience for helping them "survive" the night with their energy and patience.

"Buti na lang walang pake yung mga nanood na wala ako boses kaya naitawid namin hahaha," he wrote.

Ending the post on a sweet note, Chito thanked the loyal Parokya fans who have been following them for decades.

"Salamat talaga sa mga patuloy na nagta-tyaga sa Paroks... through thick and thin talaga. Walang iwanan sa Parokya Band," he added.

The two have been friends since they were in Grade 6, back when Carmina was already a commercial model. Chito recalled being 12 years old when just tagged along with a classmate to see her. The singer praised Carmina for being "super bait" and beautiful from then until now.

Meanwhile, in 2025, Chito Miranda publicly supported his wife, Neri Naig, after she posted a candid journal entry. In the comments, the OPM singer assured Neri that she is "super appreciated" and "sobrang galing mo." He noted that her struggle stems from her perfectionist nature. At one point, in the viral post Chito reminded his wife that the focus should be on "growth" and "not perfection."
