In a detailed video, Slater explained that he initially chose to remain silent to allow independent investigations and scientific studies to take place without social media noise.
"The past few months have been difficult for our family, especially as parents," he admitted, while acknowledging that those directly hit by the floods suffered far more.
Slater shared the findings of an independent study conducted by experts from the University of the Philippines. According to the research, Monterazzas "did not cause or worsen the flooding."

The data showed that the "sheer volume" of rain from Typhoon Tino was the true culprit. "Typhoon Tino dumped over a month’s worth of rainfall on Cebu in one single day," Slater explained.
Furthermore, he clarified that their detention ponds and drainage systems were built to be even more robust than required standards. He shared that their project actually captured and contained nearly 99.74% of the excess rainwater from their site, releasing it slowly to prevent a sudden surge downstream.
In closing, Slater called for real solutions for Cebu based on factual information. While he respects the opinions of others, he stressed that they will no longer remain silent in the face of "deliberate misinformation" and are ready to protect their family and the integrity of the project.
